The  Waltz of the Snowflakes   from The Nutcracker Ballet   by Tchaikovsky

Adapted from E T A Hoffmanns story "The  Nutcracker  and the  Mouse King", Tchaikovsky's two act Ballet premiered in St Petersburg in December 1892.  This piece occurs  at the end of Act One, where the transformed Nutcracker - now a handsome prince - escorts  Clara  through the woods  as Snowflakes dance around them.
